Probably one of the more exciting parts of spring is going to the hatchery and spending hours picking chicks from the multitude of varieties that seems to grace the shop. Eventually we settle of course of a mere 3 or 4 dozen for the year. Some layers, some to eat, and some just to look at since they are cuter than cute!
